The 2004/05 season. The season in which Adriano touched the sky.
Serie A top scorer with 15 goals. 28 goals across all competitions. The deadliest striker in Europe.
Adriano was no ordinary striker. He was a force of nature.
1.89 metres tall. 90 kilos of muscle. The physique of a Brazilian bodybuilder. And a left foot like a cannon.
When Adriano shot from outside the box, goalkeepers prayed.
Impossible goals. Balls crashing in under the crossbar at 120 km/h. Three defenders marking him and it still wasn't enough.
San Siro called him The Emperor. And he reigned.
The 2004/05 season: the peak.
Adriano scored at will. The Coppa Italia won. Inter unstoppable. Him, at the centre of everything.
But beneath it all, tragedy was already taking hold.
July 2004: his father's death.
Adriano fell apart psychologically. He began to drink. Depression. Loneliness. But on the pitch, for that one season, he could still be a god.
Then came the decline. The weight. The alcohol. The end.
But in 2004/05, for one last time, Adriano was the Emperor of Europe.
